COME, LET US BUILD EINE STADT [HISTORICAL FANTASY FOR TWO VOICES]

The text title is a quotation  from the book of Genesis. „COME, LET US…” tries to relate after war Genesis of Waldenburg. Wałbrzych’s Tower of Babel reverberated then with world languages: German, Lithuanian, Yiddish, French.  And Polish. „Come…” is an opera about builders, outcasts and residents of that tower. It’s a picturesque fantasy about how the tower fell down. About what happened, that only Polish language remained. What was necessary to be sold, taken and lost to make the city ours. It’s a report of a deal, as a result of which we exist. It’s about deal, isn’t’ it? No matter how beautiful we speak to each other, it’s always about deal.
